BUFORD, Ky. — Thomas Ward Kirk, 93, of Buford, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019, under the care of Signature Health of Hartford, Kentucky. He was born Sept. 5, 1925, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Alva and Martine Ward Kirk.
Thomas proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Kirk also served the Hartford Christian Church, as a member and Sunday School teacher for 50 years. Thomas was a Kentucky Colonel and retired from Texas Gas Pipelines. He loved to hunt, enjoyed his dogs and horses, as well as riding his bulldozer.
Aside from his parents, he is proceeded in death by his wife, Billie Kirk; brothers, Roy Kirk and Leo Kirk, and a sister, Alice Jean Cannon.
Thomas is survived by 2 sons, Randy (Mary Ann) Kirk, of Corydon, Indiana, and Jay Kirk, of Buford; brother, Kenneth Kirk, of Hartford; sister, Bonnie DiGiulio, of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Celebration will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Hartford Christian Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will take place Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hartford Christian Church.
