MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Ronald Gene Weathers, 83, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, Feb. 28, 1936, to the late Houston and Viola Flener Weathers.

Ronald was a member of Aberdeen Baptist Church, retired from TVA and was a farmer. He was in the United States Army where he served during the Korean War. He was also an avid UK fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice Taylor Weathers, of Morgantown; sons, Gregg Weathers (Korey), of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Doug Weathers (Janet), of Morgantown; grandchildren, Ashley Weathers, Easton Weathers (Leigh), and Walker Weathers, all of Morgantown; stepgrandchildren Jordan, Jessica, and J.Dylan James, all of Beaver Dam; great-granddaughter, Addison; stepgreat-grandson, Korbin; sister, Barbara Riddle, of Morgantown; and niece, Elizabeth.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, at 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Embry and Bro. Roger Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Aberdeen Cemetery where Military Honors will be presented by the Ohio County Honor Guard. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 2, from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday 8 a.m. until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
