HARTFORD, Ky. — Joseph C. Voyles, 85, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019, at Signature of Hartford. He was born in Hardin County, Kentucky, to the late Frank Voyles and Emma Houston Voyles August 21, 1933.
He was retired from Local 1707 I.B.E.W. Electrical Workers Union where he worked as a journeyman lineman. Joseph was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a stepmom, Pearl Voyles; his first wife, Shirley Faye Wallace Voyles; his second wife, Wilma Jean Hines Voyles; his sons, Douglas Earl Voyles, and Michael Lynn Voyles; his daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Voyles Lindsey; his stepdaughter, Debra Eversole; and his sister, Thelma Blinco.
Joseph is survived by his son, Richard (Janet) Wayne Voyles; his half-brother, Charles Voyles; his sister, Connie Anderson; his half-sister, JoAnn Hernadez; six grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home, with Jerry Alexander and Chris Lindsey Officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and again 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
