OWENSBORO, Ky. — Reda A. Oglesby Brooks, 82, of Owensboro, died March 3, 2019, at Twin Rivers Nursing Home, Owensboro. She was born Jan. 29, 1937, in Centertown, Kentucky, to the late Lennie and Dessie Williams Oglesby.
She retired from K-Mart and enjoyed shopping, watching old movies and NASCAR. Reda loved spending time with her great-grandson, Aidan Brooks.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Ward; sister, Eloise Hicks; and brother, Elbert Oglesby.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Hendricks (Allan); son, Michael Brooks; six grandchildren, Duane Ward (Bridgett), Shane Ward (Kelly), Tim Hendricks (Lea), Kevin Hendricks (Johnna), Jamie Brooks, and Brittany Weidemann (Aaron); 15 great-grandchildren; and a good friend, Connie Kassinger.
Memorial service will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Bridgepointe Church, 2706 Frederica Street, Owensboro. Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
