OWENSBORO, Ky. — Eugenia M. “Jean” Hines, 90, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born July 12, 1928, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Orson C. and Pearl Renfro Maples.
Jean was a beautician for many years having worked out of her home and was a member of the former Hall Street Baptist Church. She had been involved with Golden Partners and enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William T. Hines, on March 14, 1985; her son, Marvin C. Hines, in January 1955; two brothers, Glendon and Clifton Maples; and a stepson, Bill Hines.
Surviving are a sister, Joana Timm and husband, Carl, of Griffith, Indiana; one stepson, Mickey Hines and wife, Charlie, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two nephews, Larry Maples, of Rockfield, Kentucky, and Mark Timm, of Highland, Indiana; and three nieces, Teresa Russell, of Schaumburg, Illinois, Lois Holbrook, of Wise, Virginia, and Patricia Dorfman, of Austin, Texas.
The funeral service for Eugenia Hines will be noon Friday, Dec. 28, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
