OWENSBORO, Ky. — Dirk D. Richards, 64, of Owensboro, formerly of Fordsville, Kentucky, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at the Heartford House. Dirk was born in Owensboro to the late Elmer and Eula Dell Richards.
He was a retired correction officer for the State of Kentucky and was a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Richards, of Owensboro; his son, Derrek Richards, of Owensboro; his granddaughter, Allie Richards, of Owensboro; a brother, Alton Ray Richards, of Hardinsburg, Kentucky; and a sister, Jane Canary, of Fordsville.
Services are noon Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Newton Springs Baptist Church, Fordsville with burial in Newton Springs Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Geary Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
