BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Martha Ruth Heflin Barrass, 81, of Beaver Dam, went to her heavenly home on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 12, 1937, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, to the late Frederick Lee Heflin and Ruth Evelyn Ross Heflin.
She retired from General Electric/MPD where she was a metallographer and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Donald Allen Barrass, and a son, Frederick Alan Barrass.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory a son, William “Scott” Barrass, of Frankfort, Kentucky; two grandsons, Jordan Scott Barrass and Ryan Lee (Andrea) Barrass; one aunt, Gaynell Warren, of Greenville, Kentucky; and two very best friends, Robert Shown and Mary Maude Adkinson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. John Cashion officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit her family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Jordan Barrass, Ryan Barrass, Mike Warren, John Warren, Eddie Heflin, Travis Shown, Jerry Black, and Mike Ross will serve as pall bearers.
