CENTERTOWN, Ky. — Harold Norman (Chick) Coleman, 89, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at his home in Centertown. Chick was born Dec. 23, 1928, to James Volney and Bertie Mae Everly Coleman.
Chick was a faithful member of Centertown United Methodist Church where he served many years as trustee and Sunday School teacher.
He retired from Peabody Ken Mines and spent his entire life doing what he loved, which was farming, first with his dad and brothers and then with his sons.
He was a loyal friend to everyone who knew him! Rest in peace, Granddad Chick!
Chick was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Shone Maddox Coleman; his brothers, Jimmy, Max, and Doug Coleman; and son, Harold Blaine Coleman.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory a daughter-in-law, Terry Coleman; daughter, Vicki (Ken) Snarr; and sons Dennis (Alisa) Coleman, Joe (Edie) Coleman. He also leaves nine grandchildren, Chad (Natalie) Coleman, Robin (Jason) Patterson, Chris (Ann) Snarr, Laura (Bryan) Burns, Benn Snarr, Taylor (Charlie) Orihuela, Alexis (Kye) Dixon, Atticus (Ashley) Coleman, and Ivy (Matthew) Morris; and 18 grandchildren, Max, Mason and Mya Coleman, Blaine, Levi and Sherry Patterson, Chase, and Porter Snarr, Preston, Carter, and Eli Burns, Noah and Griffin Orihuela, Ryder Coleman, Emory and Grayson Dixon, Asa Coleman and Banks Morris. He leaves two sisters, Paige (Dois) Snodgrass and Lockie Whitehead.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, with service at 1 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Methodist Cemetery, Matanzas, Kentucky.
