PHILPOT, Ky. — Glendell Hunt, 72, of Philpot, died on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born June 2, 1946, in Centertown, Kentucky.

Glendell was retired from Accuride Corporation as a crane operator and was an U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a member of Owensboro Christian church and an avid fisherman.

He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Anna Marie Romans Matthews and Reathel Matthews; a sister, Geraldine Hunt; and his father, Tilford Hunt.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Judy Crowe Hunt; daughters, Kathy Spicer (Bobby) and Dana Marie Hunt, both of Philpot; sons, Steve Christian, of Whitesville, Kentucky, and Jason Hunt (Amy), of Sellersburg, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Seth Christian, Rachael Blanchard, Shane Roberts, Adrian Baker, Noranna Brown, Haven Brown, Ryan Shields, Maggie Shields, and Devin Buckler; two great-grandchildren, Link Blanchard and Sage Blanchard; and his brothers, Larry Hunt, Wendell Patton, Marty Hunt, and Robert Hunt.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Cecil Funeral Home, Whitesville. Burial will follow in Cates Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
