OHIO COUNTY, Ky. — In the movies, thunder, lightning and rain can really add to the atmosphere on a spooky Halloween night, however, in reality it makes for soggy and dangerous trick or treating.

Currently, 2 to 3 inches of rain are forecast for southern Indiana and central Kentucky, including Ohio County, from Wednesday morning through late Thursday. A locally higher swath of 3 to 4 inches appears possible along the Ohio River. At this time, around 1 to 1.5 inches of rain is expected by late Halloween evening in most spots, with heavier rain arriving late Wednesday night into Thursday.

Due to the impending bad weather Wednesday, Ohio County Judge-Executive David Johnston has moved Ohio County’s trick or treating to tomorrow, Oct. 30, 2018. Trick or treating hours will be from 4 p.m.-7 p.m.

Previous to Johnston’s announcement, Fordsville, Centertown and Hartford had already announced trick or treating in those cities would be moved to Tuesday evening.

Fordsville’s Trunk or Treat event will be at the Fordsville Volunteer Fire Department Tuesday, Oct. 30. Beaver Dam’s Treats on the Trail event will be from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Beaver Dam Park.
