Meet the Candidates: Chrissy Vance, candidate for Centertown Mayor

In 2018 General Election by OC Monitor Staff

Submitted by Chrissy Vance, candidate for Centertown Mayor

Hello, my name is Chrissy Vance. I am running this November for the position of Mayor and would very much appreciate your support and input as Election Day nears. I have lived and served in Centertown for several years, having first moved here in 1998 and volunteering with the local fire department.

Over the years I have worked as a real estate sales agent, held the position of regional manager for a multi-state fireworks retailer overseeing Kentucky State and Local Permitting. I have held the volunteer positions of president and treasurer for both the Ohio County Softball and Volleyball Booster programs at Ohio County High School and currently hold the volunteer positions of Captain with Centertown Fire Department and Secretary of the Ohio County Fire Association.

In seeking the position of mayor of Centertown, I hope to bring some benefit to the community in a positive way through shared ideas and a common purpose. I believe there are some simple improvements that could be made in a number of areas and will seek to make them.

I would like to see a more modern city hall with a 21st website where citizens can access information about our city, such as city hall meeting dates and times, minutes from previous meetings, local ordinances, boil water advisories etc. I will look into possible grants to help maintain and beautify our streets and parks.

I will have an open door policy at city hall and will provide the residents of Centertown open access at all times.

I am available to hear your comments, concerns or suggestions. Feel free to contact me anytime.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me further and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Chrissy D. Vance
