OLATON, Ky. — Zora Embry Phelps, 96, of Olaton, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, at her home. She was born in Morgantown to the late John and Mary Beasley
Embry.
She was a cook at Ohio County High School, a member of Oak Ridge General Baptist Church and attended Cedar Grove Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Phelps; two brothers, Basil Embry and Edmond Embry; and sisters, Gusta Embry Flener, and Golda Embry Calloway.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, great-great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Cedar Grove Church with Bro. Marty Cruze officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge General Baptist Church Cemetery in Butler County. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday and from 1 p.m. until funeral time on Tuesday at the church. Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is in charge of arrangements.
The Family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Ohio County or Cedar Grove Church, envelopes will be available at the church.
