OWENSBORO, Ky. — Betty McGrew Sapp, 71, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 17, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky, to James McGrew Sr. and Eula Mae Heaverin McGrew.

She retired from Asmark as an account specialist. Betty was an active member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School.

She enjoyed playing cards, potlucks, and any adventures from Fordsville Days to eating out, but most of all she loved being with her family and especially her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her father, James McGrew Sr., April 7, 2008, and her son, Lee Todd Coppage, May 1, 1998.

Survivors include her mother, Eula Mae McGrew; daughters, April Carwile (Dennis) and Latonya Hibbard; grandchildren, Christopher Norris (Kayla), Taylor Carwile, and Connor Carwile; four sisters, Brenda Durbin, Polly Wayne (Farrell), Jennie Maiden, and Bobbie McGrew; one brother, Jim McGrew (Linda); and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, at Lewis Lane Baptist Church, Owensboro with Rev. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Fordsville Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory.
