Jimmy “Hillbilly” Emery

ISLAND, Ky. —Jimmy “Hillbilly” Emery, 53, of Island, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. James Lee Emery was born Dec. 17, 1964, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to James Edward and Loretta Mae Whitmer Emery and was married to the former Kathy Marie Coon Aug. 30, 1997.

He was a truck driver for Phillips Enterprises, enjoyed watching all races, racing his remote control trucks, and spending time with both his family and friends.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, James Emery.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Kathy Emery; four daughters, Miranda Shelton and husband, Robert, of Sacramento, Kentucky, Melissa Emery, of Beaver Dam, Mallory Emery, of Sacramento, and Stacy Emery, of Calhoun, Kentucky;two grandchildren, Taylor Emery and Trent Shelton; his mother, Loretta Emery, of Utica, Kentucky; and a sister, Barbara Adkins of Utica.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Troy Slinker officiating. Burial will be in the Island Community Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Jimmy’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday at Musters in Livermore.
