PADUCAH, Ky. — Mrs. Anna Carolyn (Anderson) Cain went to be with the Lord Sept. 3, 2018, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky. She went peacefully surrounded by her family. Carolyn was born Jan. 5, 1939, in Daviess County, Kentucky, to the late Robert Anderson and LeEtta Howard. She was born third to a family of nine children, and was the oldest daughter.

On Aug. 30, 1957, she married her dearest darling, James “Bud” Cain. They had three children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Carolyn was a licensed professional nurse.

She loved fishing in Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley in the summer and Lake Okeechobee, Florida, in the winter. Carolyn was a pillar to her family. She never forgot a birthday, loved hosting family gatherings and enjoyed cooking feasts for those she loved. She delighted in creating a space for her friends and family to have fun, laugh and enjoy life.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne Anderson, Bob Anderson, Dave Anderson, Tom Anderson, and Dwight Anderson, and by her sister, Judy Anderson.

Carolyn was the loving wife of 61 years to James “Bud” Cain; devoted mother to Greg (Tina) Cain, Scot Cain, and Terri (Brent) Cain Khan; fun-spirited gran to Christopher Cain, Meghan (Chris) Cain-Davis, Ashton (Corey) Geary, Cora Cain, and Sean Khan, and great gran to Austin Cain, Nicholas Cain, and Elijah Geary; caring sister to Bill (Judy) Anderson and Alice (Herbie) Slemin; and an inspirational figure to a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at William L. Danks Funeral Home, 222 North Lafayette Street, Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Greg Cain officiating. Friends may visit with Carolyn’s family from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
