CROMWELL, Ky. — Barbara Ann Blacklock, 83, of Cromwell, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born Dec. 31, 1934, in Mutting, West Germany, to the late Martin Dietrich and Fanny Ostreicher Dietrich.
Ms. Blacklock retired as a housekeeper from Ft. Knox, Kentucky, and was employed for over 15 years at Denny’s in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. She was of the Catholic faith.
Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Martin Dietrich.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, Marty (Donna) Blacklock, of Cromwell, and Alva Blacklock III, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; one daughter, Teresa (Leo) Ferrell, of Radcliff, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Jonathon Blacklock, Deneta Smith, Christopher Ready, and Bill (Lucy) Ready; five great-grandchildren, Brice Smith, Waylan Rizby, Braylon ready, Cole Ready, and Penelope Ready; and one sister, Fanny Myers, of Rehm, Germany.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. David Baskin officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery in Butler County, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Ms. Blacklock’s family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral Thursday at the funeral home.
