CENTRAL CITY, Ky. — Uneeda “Needa” Lee Jenkins, 89, of Central City, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at 4:12 a.m. at her home. Mrs. Jenkins was born March 23, 1929, in Echols, Kentucky.
She was a homemaker. Needa loved her Lord and served Him faithfully. She was delighted to worship at Pond Run Baptist Church, which is served by her beloved Pastor “Doc” Crowe.
She especially enjoyed her Tuesday Lunch Bunch with family and friends, as they meet every week at various local restaurants.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Myrtle Fulkerson Bowen; husband of 57 years, Earl Jenkins, whom she married on Feb. 8, 1947; granddaughter, Kimberly Pepperell; and sister, Kathleen Bowen.
Needa will be missed by her children, Jean (Dave) Pepperell and Earl (Carrie) Jenkins; grandchildren, Kristoffer (Michele) Pepperell, Kurt (Nicole) Pepperell, Kyle (Marissa) Pepperell, Kasey (Greg) Gandenberger, Jesse McCann, Rachel (Bo) Jenkins, Katie (Mark) Kurlyandchik, and James Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Grace Pepperell, Addison Pepperell, Averie Pepperell, Holden Pepperell, Evelyn Pepperell, Cillian Gandenberger, Bennet Gandenberger, Alice Gandenberger, Valentin Kurlyandchik, and Sebastian Kurlyandchik (expected); siblings, Conrad Bowen, Barbara Casebier, Sue Noffsinger, Faye Warren, and Raye Donvan; and several very special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Pastor Alton “Doc” Crowe and Pastor Dave Pepperell officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank all of those who made Needa’s life a joy.
