CENTERTOWN, Ky. — Suzie Ann Hertzog, 60, of Centertown, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018, at home surrounded by her loved ones and close friends, under the care of Hospice of Ohio County. Suzie was born Sept. 15, 1957, in Marion County, Indiana, to the late Ernest Beverly and Betty Rowe McConnell.
She retired after 32 years in health care as a nurse, where she started her career out at Professional Care Home. She was an avid quilter, serving on the Prayer Guild Ministry, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, UK basketball, her family and grandchildren. She was a former vice president of United Methodist Women and really enjoyed attending pig shows to watch her granddaughters show.
Aside from her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Marie Rowe, Eula and Owen McConnell; a brother, Harold “Toby” Owen; and father, Charles Hayes.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Michael Hertzog; two daughters, Toby Michelle (Nathan) Rock, of Hartford, Kentucky, Beth Ann (Robbie) Farris, of Centertown; five grandchildren, Robert Andrew Farris, Zachary Gunner Farris, Madalyn Marie Rock, Marley Mae Rock, and George Stewart; and two great-grandchildren, Mason Andrew Farris, and Bryleigh Grey Farris, and a special friend, Shannon Coots.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Centertown United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Centertown Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Centertown United Methodist Church and again Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Centertown Cemetery Fund and Ohio County Hospice. Envelopes will be made available at the church.
