OC Sheriff warns of AT&T scam

HARTFORD, Ky. — The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a new scam.

AT&T contacted the Sheriff’s Office to pass on information about a scam using the company’s name that’s working its way through Ohio County today.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a person claiming to be with AT&T is calling and asking for the customer’s account passcodes and the last 4 digits of their social security numbers. These calls are a scam. Do not give out any personal information. Hang up immediately.
