BEAVER DAM, Ky. — James Willis “Jim” Taylor Sr., 74, of Beaver Dam, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Ohio County Hospital. He was born Sept. 19, 1943, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to the late Boyce Taylor and Evelyn Malburg Taylor.
Jim was a longtime resident of Ohio County, Kentucky, and retired from Kentucky Bureau of Highways.
He was a member of Rosine Baptist Church and Ohio County Rescue Squad. Jim was a bowling and volleyball enthusiast.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Taylor.
Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 46 years, Carole Ingram Taylor, of Beaver Dam; a daughter, Lori Oldham (Roger) Daugherty, of Centertown, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Chris Taylor Knight, of Centertown; five grandchildren, Hannah Oldham, Mackenzie Oldham, Heather (Adam) Ballard, Katie (Dale) Peak, and Josh (Courtney) Blandford; six great-grandchildren, Nick, Gracie, Taylor, Wyatt, Aiden, and Olivia; four sisters, Valeta Gart, of Texas, Norine (Jim) Cottrill, of Louisville, Kentucky, Opal Taylor, of Beaver Dam, and Isabell Rich, of Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 12, with Rev. Tim Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery in Echols, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Jim’s family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
