BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Palestene Taylor Brown went to be with her Savior on May 3, 2018. She was born Sept. 26, 1929, in Taylor Mines, Kentucky, to the late Walton and Corda Allen Taylor.
Palestene was retired from Mulberry Court Apartments as property manager and Junior Food Store as manager. She was also formerly employed by Stewarts Dry Goods in Louisville.
She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, and a former member of Auburndale Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Palestene was a loving mom, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and a treasure to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold J. Brown; a son, Michael J. Brown; and a grandson, Jordan Cody Paxton; sisters, Zula Trodgen, Opal Daugherty, and Thelma Eaden.
Palestene was the beloved mother of two children, Janie Paxton, of Beaver Dam; and Jim (Brenda) Brown, of Bloomfield, Indiana; four grandchildren, Dr. Matt (Kasee) Paxton, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Luke Paxton, of Beaver Dam, Amanda Brown, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jamie Brown, of Linton, Indiana; five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Eva, Lyla, Hudson, and Luca; a brother, Jewell Taylor, of Beaver Dam; niece, Renae Eaden (Max) Ezell, of Utica, Kentucky; nephew, Tony (Brenda) Eaden, of Owensboro, Kentucky; and her faithful rescue dog, Missy.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, May 4, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Dr. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with Palestene’s family from 3 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
