OLATON, Ky. — Jerry S. Cannon, 67, of Olaton, gained his angel wings Wednesday, March, 28, 2018, at Norton’s Hospital. He was born June 24, 1950, in Horse Branch to the late Hilliard Samuel Cannon and Mary Lois Decker Brown.

Jerry retired from Peabody Coal Company, Highland Mine. He was a member of Horse Branch Church of God, and vice-president of Caney Creek Watershed.

Jerry’s passion was farming, his family, and friends.

Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Hilliard Cannon, and a sister, Nell Shartzer.

Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Diana Cannon, of Olaton; four children, JerryAnna (Drew) Denmon, of Fort Pierce, Florida, Adam (Sarah) Cannon, of Olaton, Megan Cannon, of Olaton, and Blake (Jessica) Cannon, of Olaton; nine grandchildren, Hiram, Harlie, Hannah, Grant, Sage, Kara, Reighlynn, Jaydon, and Elye; six siblings, Mary Lou (Pete) Carmon, of Olaton, Georgie (Fairly) Williams, of Leitchfield, Kentucky, Freck (Mary) Cannon, of Leitchfield, Felix (Jil) Cannon, of Cedar Lake, Indiana, Harry (Rita) Cannon, of Leitchfield, and Ricky Cannon, of Hardinsburg, Kentucky; father-in-law, Randall (Donna) Frames; mother-in-law, Mary-Etta (Jerry) Hudson; brothers-in-law, Randy (Connie) Frames, Gerald (Tori) Frames; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Doug) Tarrence, Cynthia Frames, Chastity Frames, Whitney Frames, Jessica Frames, Joseph Hudson, Steven Harvey, and April Greer; special friends, Steve Vanover, Steve Huggins, Jerry Smith, Wesley Decker, Burl Morris, Bruce Mitchell, Terry Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Horse Branch Church of God with Rev. Ernest Whitely, Bro. Bobby Renfrow and Bro. Doug Tarrence officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery in Horse Branch. Friends may visit with Jerry’s family from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Horse Branch Church of God and 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
