OWENSBORO, Ky. — Willard Vernon McIntyre, 81, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born June 17, 1936, in McHenry, Kentucky, to the late Chester Lee and Mary Lee Ezell McIntyre.

Willard was retired from the United States Navy where he worked as a welder. He attended Iowa Western Community College and taught tool and dye there as well.

Willard attended Fordsville Church of God of Prophecy.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Eddie McIntyre; siblings, Virginia Phelps, Hazel Bishop, Jerry McIntyre, and Charles McIntyre; one grandson, Thomas Allen Nelson; and one great-grandson, Thomas Lynn Dean McIntyre.

Survivors include one son, Willard “Jimbo” Vernon (Melissa) McIntyre II, of Owensboro; three daughters, Deborah Ann (Carl) Brown, of Clearfield, Utah, Terri Homan, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Brenda Lea McIntyre (Ron) Whittle, of St. George, Utah; his wife, Pearl Lucille Boyer McIntyre, of Utah; five brothers, Bill McIntyre, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Eugene (Barbara) McIntyre, of Centertown, Kentucky, Danny (Pat) McIntyre, of Ridgeville, South Carolina, Conrad (Connie) McIntyre, of Owensboro, and Bobby (Sherry) McIntyre, of Owensboro, and one sister, Athelene (Hillard) Farris, of Echols, Kentucky. Willard was blessed with eight grandchildren, Stephanie McIntyre, Johanna Combest, Jaclyn Nelson, Matthew Harty, Jonathan Boyd, Ciera Boyd, Nathan McIntyre, and Michelle Meyer; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, at Echols Daystar Church of God with Robbie Farris officiating. Burial will follow in Render Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Wesley Phelps Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Mr. McIntyre’s family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Echols Daystar Church of God, 5508 Hwy 1245, Beaver Dam, Kentucky 42320.
