Walter C. ‘Reb’ Barnett

REYNOLDS STATION, Ky. — Walter C. “Reb” Barnett, 76, of Reynolds Station, formerly of Knox, Indiana, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at Ohio County Hospital.

He was retired from maintenance work, was a member of United Christian Church and was an ordained minister. He also was an accomplished guitarist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy and Cora Barnett; brothers, Charles Barnett and William M. Barnett; and a grandson, Joshua Lilly.

Survivors include his wife, Della Jane Barnett; a son, Marcus (Valerie) Barnett, of Reynolds Station; daughters, Michelle (Robert) Sorrels, of Falls of Rough, Kentucky, Connie (Craig) Shultz, of Reynolds Station, and Toyie (Craig) Cottew, of Rockport, Indiana; a brother, Thomas Barnett, of Knox, Kentucky; a sister, Janice Fletcher, of Arizona; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, Kentucky, with burial in Deanefield Cemetery. Visitation is after 9 a.m. Saturday. Special thanks to Ohio County Hospital and nursing staff, Ohio County Hospice and Dr. Gregory for going above and beyond.
