OWENSBORO, Ky. — Kenneth Ray Peercy, 67, of Owensboro, passed away on Feb. 1, 2018, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born in Ohio County, Kentucky, (Fordsville) on March 27, 1950, to the late Charles E. Peercy and Alta R. Brown Peercy.

He was an iron worker and later went to work and retired from Field’s Packing Company where he worked in maintenance after 14 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing. UK basketball, and enjoyed sitting on his front porch listening to his music.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Stilwell.

Surviving are his children, Laura (Michael) Hurt and Bruce (Tabitha) Peercy, both of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Kelsie Peercy, Emma Peercy, Emily Hurt, Amber Hurt, and Hannah Hurt; his siblings, Vena Welch and Christine Meador, of Louisville, Ruby Russell, of Sebree, Kentucky, Shirley Rudisell, of Maceo, Kentucky, James, Roger,  and Randall, all of Owensboro, and Curtis Peercy, of Henderson, Kentucky.

Visitation at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
