BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Charles G. McCormick, 81, of Beaver Dam, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018. He was born on Nov. 13, 1936, in the Taylormine Community of Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late John and Lillian Chinn McCormick.

Charles was a retired Peabody Coal Miner and a member of McHenry Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Army.

Aside from his parents, Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Wendell McCormick.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Mattie Sorrells McCormick, of Beaver Dam; four children, Debbie (Ron) McCorkindale, of Kettle Falls, Washington, Rickie (Norene) McCormick, of Beaver Dam, Scottie (Trish) McCormick, of Lewisport, Kentucky, and Cherie (Rodney) Lee, of Beaver Dam; four stepchildren, Donna (Glen) Calhoun, of Owensboro, Scott (Tammy) Daugherty, of Cottontown, Tennessee, David (Elizabeth) Daugherty, of Owings, Maryland, Eric (Robin) Clothier, of Whitesville, Kentucky; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Wilson, of Owensboro; and one brother, Gene McCormick, of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Brent Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mr. McCormick’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home. Full Military Honors will be provided by Ohio County Honor Guard.
