OLATON, Ky. — Phyllis Naomi Midkiff, 94, formerly of Olaton, passed away Jan. 27, 2018, at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson, Kentucky. She was born Aug. 22, 1923, in Hammond, Indiana, to the late William J. Adams and Mamie Messinger Adams.
Phyllis was a homemaker. She was a member of Church of Christ in Olaton, Kentucky. Phyllis enjoyed working in her garden and cooking, she especially loved cooking for her family, whom have been known praise her for being such a great cook.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Midkiff; infant twin daughters; a baby, Sharon Moorman; and her sister, Ruth Moorman.
She is survived by a son, David Ward, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Phyllis Ann Johnson and James Oscar Ward; her brother, John Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 12 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Schapmire Funeral Home with Brother Mike Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow in Carson Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Midkiff will welcome friends after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
