UTICA, Ky. — Stewart Sheldon Gibson, 87, of Utica, died Jan. 25, 2018, at the Western Kentucky Veteran Center in Hanson, Kentucky. He was born on Jan. 2, 1931, in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, to the late John and Janella Gibson.
He retired as a Millwright and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Salvation Army Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR racing.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Barbara Carol Gibson; third wife, Thelma Louise Bray Gibson, in 2003; fourth wife, Georgette Melbauer Gibson, in 2011; and by three sisters, Lillian Marie Grey, Helen Elizabeth Ross, and Sarah Josephine Sweet.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Christine and William Oller, of Reynolds Station, Kentucky; grandchildren, Erica Adams, of Alabama, and Bryan Oller, of Reynolds Station; a brother-in-law, Gordon Melbauer, of California; and his good friends, Wayne Scott, Jim White, and Gary Dukate.
There will be no services or visitation. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
