McQUADY, Ky. — Linda Nix, 74 of McQuady, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at her residence. She was born in Glen Dean, Kentucky, Dec. 13, 1943, the daughter of the late Harry Hale Sr. and Laura Leigh Wheatley Hale.
Linda was a homemaker who enjoyed working crossword puzzles, gardening, yard work and Kentucky Wildcat basketball. She was the “Queen of Bingo.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Martin; son, Timmy Ball; grandson, Thomas “Scooby” Ball; great-grandson, Ronald Dale Ball Jr.; and seven brothers, Frank, Mike, Denver, Harold, Gene, Leonard, and Harry Hale, Jr.
Linda is survived by her husband, Ernie Nix, of McQuady; son, Robbie Ball Jr. (Teresa), of Fordsville; daughters, Gail Boyken (Larry), of Cromwell, Kentucky, and Jennifer Creech (Shawn), of Hardinsburg, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Kim Ball, of Reynolds Station, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Amanda Ball, Ron “Bub” Ball, Paige Smith, Magnus Smith, and Nash Gibson; six great-grandchildren; one brother, JT Hale (Linda), of Owensboro, Kentucky; and one sister, Anna Dean Greenwood, of Hardinsburg.
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the McQuady Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday after 8 a.m.
