MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Alice Faye Baker, 77, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at her residence. She was born in Butler County, Kentucky, on Dec. 11, 1940, to the late Casey Johnson and Ruby Mae Painter Johnson.
Ms. Baker retired from Kane Manufacturing Company.
She was a member of Sandy Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She loved UK basketball, cooking, gardening, listening to the news on WLBQ, reading, volunteering at the Morgantown Mission and spending time with grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Carl Johnson.
Ms. Baker is survived by a son, Stephen Lee Baker (Elizabeth), of Clarksville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Danielle Spencer (Brian), of Lexington, Kentucky, Nathan Baker, of Central City, Kentucky, Justin Porter, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Beth Porter (Tyler), of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, Acey and Cloey Spencer, of Lexington; two brothers, David Johnson, of Topeka Kansas, Bobbie Dale Johnson (Linda), of Morgantown, Kentucky; two sisters, Nina Mae West, of Morgantown, and Iris Gail Barks, of Morgantown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Harold West officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 18, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday 8 a.m. until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown. Burial in the Sandy Creek Cemetery.
