BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Donald A. French passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2017. Don was born in Chicago, Illinois, Feb. 18, 1933.
He attended school in Chicago and the Roosevelt Academy in Aledo, Illinois. Mr. French was of the Catholic faith and a member of Holy Redeemer Church.
He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served as an army paratrooper stationed out of Fort Campbell in the 11th Airborne Division.
After service, he married Clara Jean Midkiff in Owensboro, Kentucky, and they were married for 56 beautiful years. During that time, he worked for American Airlines and retired after 43 years.
He spent time camping, traveling, and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. Don also loved woodworking and enjoyed building oak chests for family members and toys for children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers, and one sisters.
Survivors include one sister, Elaine Dagendesh; cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services are at 12 noon Friday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Larry Embry officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
