Robert E. ‘Bob’ Peacock

OWENSBORO, Ky. — Robert E. “Bob” Peacock, 85, of Owensboro, gained his angel wings on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Twin Rivers Nursing and Rehab with beloved family holding his hand. He was born Feb. 6, 1932, in Owensboro, to Ira and Lena (Stewart) Peacock.

Robert is a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War on the USS Mindoro (CVE-120), receiving a National Defense Service Medal.

He retired as a correctional officer at Owensboro Treatment Center. Bob was a hard worker that could build and fix anything and was always willing to help others out.

All his able life, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and had a great love for animals. He loved and was very proud of his family and loved his UK Basketball.

Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen K. Peacock; two daughters, Jennifer (Mike) Beesley, Kimberly (Aaron) Haynes; two sons, Michael Peacock, and Joseph Peacock; and five grandchildren, Haley Haynes, Makayla Beesley, Karie Haynes, Levi Beesley, and Taylor Haynes.

Cremation was chosen by the family and performed by the staff of Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Kentucky. A private memorial service will be held in his honor.
