OWENSBORO, Ky. — Dottie Moxley Baird, 90, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at her home. Born in Ohio County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Ulysses S. and Mamie Moxley, and the loving wife of Arthur Baird.
She retired from General Electric after more than 40 years of service and was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church.
She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Carole E. Briesath; her son, Charles K. Church Jr.; her brothers, Dennis, Delmer and Arthur Obenchain, and Samuel Moxley; and her sisters, Anola Hedden, Reba Franks, and Dorothy Randall.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Arthur Baird, of Owensboro; her son, Stephen Church (Desireé), of Lexington, Kentucky; her sister, Mary E. Greathouse, of Ohio County; eight grandchildren, Brian, Brianna, Jana, Sara, Tiffany, Danielle, Andrea and Carole; and eight great-grandchildren, Haley, Ashton, Christine, Kiefer, Claire, Meaghan, Truman and Bridgette.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pattiville. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
