PHILPOT, Ky. — Erman Dean Hamilton, 72, of Philpot, passed on Oct. 17, 2017, at his home. He was born on Oct. 8, 1945, in Philpot, to the late Claude and Lola Anderson Hamilton.

Erman was retired from Whirlpool Corporation after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #600 in Fordsville, Kentucky. He was a member of Karns Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and traveling and was a great storyteller.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis, Ragel, Ellis and James.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara Dean Dowell Hamilton, whom he married on March 6, 1965; two sons, Phillip Hamilton (Heather) and Scott Hamilton (Gwen); a daughter, Leslie Hamilton Mercer (Ben); grandchildren, Dustin Hamilton, Christopher Hamilton, (Savanah), Sarah Hamilton, Nickolas Lane and Olivia Hamilton; a beautiful great-granddaughter, Hattie; his brothers, Wallace Hamilton (Carolyn), Arthur Hamilton (Lee), Frank Hamilton (Ellen), Claude Jr. Hamilton (Janice), and Gene Hamilton (Brenda); two sisters, Sue Rohrscheib (Larry) and Linda Howard (Johnny); many nieces and nephews and their children.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, at Cecil Funeral Home, Whitesville. Entombment will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday with Masonic services at 5 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
