OWENSBORO, Ky. — David Daniel Rhoades, 83, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 at his residence. He was born Sept. 30, 1934, to the late Kerney and Jessie Rhoades.
As a motorcycle enthusiast, David liked working with his hands. He enjoyed it so much, he worked for Honda motorcycles for several years performing everything from sales to mechanical work. David loved wrestling, watching NASCAR, and telling jokes.
David loved his dog “Precious” and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids.
David is preceded in death by a brother, Rommie Rhoades.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Virginia “Louise” Rhoades, of Owensboro; his daughters, Debbie Fulkerson (Danny), of Maceo, Kentucky, Karen Connor (Jim), of Owensboro, Kim Pierce (Gary), of Mortons Gap, Kentucky, and Myra Rodriguez (Earven), of Clarksville, Tennessee; a son, David A. Rhoades (Sandy), of Owensboro; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; a sister, Loretta Rhoades, of Owensboro; a special cousin, Anne Stewart, of Deanfield, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
The service will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Bro. Jerry Carter will officiate. Interment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
