BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Lawrence Allen Hawes, 73, of Beaver Dam, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at Ohio County Hospital after a short illness with cancer. Lawrence was born in Cool Springs, Kentucky, to the late William “Billy” and Grace Hines Hawes.
He was a production/sales supervisor in Evansville, Indiana, a member of New Assembly Church, a Kentucky Colonel, enjoyed gardening, woodworking, camping,
and was an avid UK basketball fan.
Most of all he enjoyed helping others.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Jessica.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann Chapman Hawes; a son, Todd Jones; three daughters, Shari Taylor, Gloria Jones, Kelly Baize; a stepdaughter, Selena Miller; two brothers, Billy Jean Hawes and Lonnie Hawes; four sisters, Francis Buck, Anna Arnold, Edna Morris, and Sue Boling; six grandchildren, Shelby Cook, Coty Jones, Taylor Baize, Addie Baize, Karley Hodges, and Elizabeth McKnight; and five great-grandchildren.
Services are 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Lealin Geary officiating. Burial will be in Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family request expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Ohio County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
