New Smyrna, Fla. — Etta “June” England, formerly of Newburgh, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at Coquina Cay Assisted Living in New Smyrna, Florida. She was born July 2, 1931, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, to the late Archie and Grace Cardwell.

June was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Newburgh for 28 years where she served on the hospitality committee and sang in the choir. After retiring from General Electric in Owensboro, Kentucky, June increased her love for making quilts, crafting and baking.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Floyd S. England; her daughter, Judy Wilson; her sister, Reba; and her brother, Boyce “Buddy” Hoops.

She is survived by two brothers, Gene (Vickie) Hoops, of Beaver Dam, and Wendell (Valery) Hoops, of Illinois; and two granddaughters, Deanna Lynn Devine and Taylor England.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Dr. John Charles of Evansville, Indiana, officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
