McHENRY, Ky. — Dorothy Nell Hines, 90 of McHenry, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, July, 28, 2017. She was born Oct. 1, 1926, to the late Larn and Rosie Embry King.
Dorothy grew up in Echols, Ky., and attended school at Happy Hollow until the 8th grade. In 1944, Dorothy married the love of her life, the late Elmer Clyde Hines.
The couple had a beautiful 29 year marriage, where they resided in McHenry and raised seven children.
Dorothy was a woman built of strength, patience, and kindness. She had a great love for animals, but nothing compared to the love she had for her family. Dorothy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends.
Dorothy was blessed with seven children, Samuel Hines, of McHenry, Patty Adams(Loren), of Maui, Hawaii, the late Steven Hines, the late Harlan Glenn Hines, Deborah McCaney (Tony Dunn), of Lexington, Kentucky, Doloros Faye Dockery (Estil), of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Johnnie Hines, of McHenry, Kentucky. Dorothy adored her 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She loved each one dearly, she left us with a life full of beautiful memories that each of us will cherish forever. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Cleatus Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry. Friends may visit with the family of Mrs. Dorothy Nell Hines from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
