
She was a member of No Creek United Methodist Church in Hartford.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Glenn Lee Carden Jr.; one grandson, James Taylor Howard; one brother, Jerry Shultz; and one sister, Bernice Shultz.
Surviors include two daughters, Penny Carden, of Hartford, and Joy Howard, of Falls of Rough, Kentucky; seven brothers, Eddie Shultz, Virgil Shultz, James Shultz, Kelly Shultz, Frankie Shultz, Ned Shultz, and Ricky Shultz; and five sisters, Linda Whittaker, Mary Coy, Sissy Smith, JoAnn Crowe, and Teresa Filback. Doris was blessed with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen by the family and performed by the staff of Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Kentucky. Family and friends are invited to participate in a memorial service for Doris Brown Monday, July 24, at 6 p.m. at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home with a gathering of family and friends starting at 5 p.m.
