Loretta ‘Fay’ McConnell

BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Loretta “Fay” McConnell, 84, of Beaver Dam, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Ohio County Hospital. She was born March, 24, 1933, in Render, Ky., to the late John R. Hoskins and Cordie Johnson Hoskins.

Mrs. McConnell graduated from McHenry High school, retired from Nestaway, and attended Independence Baptist Church in McHenry, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Murray McConnell; son, Jerry Wayne McConnell; two sisters, Maurine Bratcher and Dortha G. Wall; and two brothers, John C. “J.C.” Hoskins and Kenneth J. “Kenny” Hoskins.

Survivors include one son, Gary (Jeanette) McConnell, of Beaver Dam; one daughter, Carol Shown, of Hartford, Ky.; three grandchildren, April Cleveland (Bryan Rafferty), Jarrod McConnell (Kristy Adams), and Andrea (John) Patterson; six great-grandchildren, Zachary, Devon, C.J. Brookelyn, Layla, and Kinslee; one brother, Laymon C. (Nellie) Hoskins, of Dayton, Ohio; and one sister, June Goff, of Cromwell, Ky.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Recie Young officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mrs. McConnell’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.
