JASPER, Ind. — Ronald Jerry Boling, 72, of Jasper, formerly of Boling Chapel, Ky., died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at his home.
He retired as chief deputy for Ohio County Sheriff’s Department after a 27 year police career, including the City of Fordsville police chief and deputy for Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.
He was a graduate of Hancock County High School and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of Boling Chapel United Methodist Church.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Sue W. Boling; his parents, Elva and Martha Boling; brothers, Danny Lue Boling and Donald Boling; and a sister-in-law, LaVonna Boling.
Survivors include two strong-willed daughters, Sue Habig and husband, Paul, of Jasper, and Dr. Winnie Boling and husband, Aaron High, of Louisville; grandchildren, Thomas and Olivia Habig and Caleb, Atley Sue and William High; brothers, Terry Boling and Timmy (Connie) Boling, both of Reynolds Station, Ky.; sisters-in-law, Peggy Boling, Geraldine Boling and Alisia Walling; brother-in-law, Bruce Walling; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Boling Chapel United Methodist Church with burial in Boling Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, Ky., and after 12 noon Friday at Boling Chapel United Methodist Church.
