JASPER, Ind. — Longtime Ohio County Sheriff’s Deputy, and former Fordsville Police Chief, Ronald Jerry Boling passed away Tuesday, June 13, at his home.
Boling, formerly of Boling Chapel, Kentucky, enjoyed a 27 year career in law enforcement, spending time as a Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy, the Chief of Police for Fordsville, Kentucky, and Chief Deputy of the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office. Boling retired from law enforcement after his time with the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office.
Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty shared his thoughts about Boling and his passing on the Ohio County Sheriff’s Facebook Page.
“In law enforcement we have those that mentor and teach us how to become good officers. These teachings can be found in the Bible, through things that are common sense and from the heart. We mourn the passing of a great officer, a mentor and friend Ronald Jerry Boling,” Beatty said. “Jerry taught me many things, including how to be good to people. Jerry served as Chief Deputy here at the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office from 1993 until 2010 and served our county well. Jerry will never be forgotten as he was a part of our law enforcement family and was one of my best friends. Rest in peace my friend you will be missed dearly. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. May God be with you Sue Boling Habig and Winnie High.”
The Hartford Police Department also expressed sympathies on its Facebook page, posting, “Rest in peace Jerry Boling. Our county will miss you!”
