GREENVILLE, Ky. — Dorothy “Evelyn” Ford, 100, of Greenville, passed away Friday morning, April 28, 2017, at 8:47 a.m. in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Evelyn was born on June 5, 1916, in Beech Creek, Ky., the daughter of Thomas Edgar Newman and Dovye Jane Evitts Newman.
She retired from Ken-Rad in Owensboro, Ky., as a factory worker. She was a member of Beech Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Brennice Ford, in 1979; and a grandson, David Weston Ford, in 2010.
She is survived by one daughter, Sarah and her husband, John Daniel, of Hartford, Ky.; two sons, John David Ford, of Greenville, Thomas Randall and his wife, Linda Ford, of Greenville; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 2, at 1 p.m. from Gary’s Funeral Home by Reverend E.W. Greenwalt, with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 1, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville.
