OLATON, Ky. — Edgar L. Woolen, 82, of Olaton, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at the Signature Health Care in Hartford. He was born on Thursday, Sept. 13, 1934, in Grayson County, Ky., the son of the late Vernie and Mildred (Lambert) Woolen.
Edgar was employed for more than 10 years with the RC Bottling Company. He was a retired farmer and construction worker. He was also an Army veteran.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; his son-in-law, Cleon Logsdon; and his granddaughter, Rachel Woolen.
Edgar is survived by two children, Arzetta Logsdon, of Falls of Rough, Ky., and Gary Woolen (Robin), of Horse Branch, Ky.; one sister, Martine Daniel, of Olaton; two brothers, Willie and Grover Woolen, both of Olaton; three grandchildren, Heather Logsdon, David Woolen and Kristie Westerfield (Mike); and two great-grandchildren, Parker and Keelee Westerfield.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 29, at 11 a.m. at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Mike Taylor will be officiating. Burial will be in the McGrady Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Friday after 2 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
