FORDSVILLE, Ky. — Wendell G. Freer, 85, left for his heavenly home peacefully from his earthly home in Fordsville on Thursday, April 20, 2017.

He was a retired teacher from Ohio County High School and an Army veteran. He was a member of Fordsville Baptist Church, Gideons International and Fordsville Lions Club.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, A.H. and Edith O’Dell Freer; and a brother, Ralph O. Freer.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Wacker Freer; sons, Tony Freer, of Fordsville, and Timothy Freer, of Owensboro, Ky.; brothers, Dr. John H. (Anita) Freer, of Hopkinsville, Ky., Dr. James A. (Susan) Freer, of Jackson, Mich., William D. (Jane) Freer, of Georgetown, Ky., and Joseph M.(Gayla) Freer, of Fordsville; a sister-in-law, Markley Freer, of Owensboro; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 11 a.m. on Monday, April 24, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Fordsville Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
