LEWISPORT, Ky. — Rita Sandra Edge, 69, died on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Heartland Villa. She was born and raised in Fordsville, Ky., to the late John Thomas and Lillian Phillips Edge.
Rita was a long time member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Owensboro, Ky. Her church family often visited her at Heartland Villa. She was devoted to her church and almost as devoted to her beloved Kentucky Wildcat Basketball Team.
Survivors include her sister, Dortha Boling, who as Rita could often be heard to say, was older by 12 years, of Hawesville, Ky.; a nephew, Wayne (Emily) Boling, of Owensboro; a niece, Carol Y. Boling, of Lewisport; a great-niece, LeAnn (Todd) Crosby, of Bowling Green, Ky.; and two great-great-nieces, Anslee and Averi Crosby, of Bowling Green.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, at the Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville. The visitation will culminate with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 2 p.m. The family believes that Rita celebrated life every day. This will be our last chance to celebrate with her.
