WHITESVILLE, Ky. — Teresa Logsdon, 94, of Whitesville, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Fordsville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Teresa was born to the late Sarah and James Conder on Feb. 2, 1923, in Whitesville.
Ms. Logsdon was a lifetime member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. She was a dedicated wife and mother and secretary for their self-employed family business.
She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Altar Society, Auxilary Member of the Legion of Mary, 4-H Leader, a Cub Scout leader, dedicated member of Trinity High School Booster Club and an avid volunteer when her children were in St. Mary’s Grade School and Trinity High School.
In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Carl Logsdon (2015); a daughter, Dorothy Kay Logsdon (1970); and brothers, Clarence, Edward, Tommy and Arnold Conder.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Bobby) Helm, of Hartford, Ky., Patty Basinger, of Whitesville; a son, Barry Logsdon (Kathi), of Newburgh, Ind.; grandchildren, Vicki Helm Evans, of Whitesville, Jeff Helm, of Hartford, Michelle Basinger Nagy, of Harpers Ferry, W.V., and Garrett Basinger, of Whitesville; great-grandchildren, Candice Smiley Ballard, Josh Helm, Tyler Smiley, and Heather Helm; and great-great-grandchildren, Karter Smiley, Graci Ballard, Hope Ballard and Jacob Helm.
Visitation will be at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, April 17, with prayers at 7:30 p.m., and after 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville with Father Brian Roby officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery.
