OWENSBORO, Ky. — Leonard E. Oller, 80, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2017, at his home. He was born on April 14, 1936, in Horse Branch, Ky., to the late James Bennett Oller and Iva Katherine Bartlett Oller.

He retired as an Ironworker for Owensboro Iron Works. He was a deacon and member of Crosspointe Baptist Church, a member of the Friendship Bible Class, a member of the Owensboro Bass Club and a former member of Masonic Lodge #130. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.

He loved being outdoors but his passion was being on the lake fishing or at the farm hunting with his boys. He loved raising a garden and U.K. basketball. He had a great love for his family and watching his grandsons and great grandsons play baseball.

He entertained others with his storytelling. All the little ones loved “Paw” and they were the highlight of his day.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ginger Ann Oller Bilbro; granddaughter, Libby Ann Oller; two brothers, William E. “Gene” Oller and James Bennet “Jim” Oller; and two sisters, Helen Marie Haulf and Margaret Ann Bartlett Aull.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Daisy Aileen Bruner Oller; four children, Tony Oller (Peggy), W.O. Oller (Jan), Jimmy Oller, and Audra Murphy (David); nine grandchildren, Nick Oller (Kelly), Jill Coons (Matt), Angela Oller (Daniel Carmon), Keelie Beadnell (William Bickett), Katie Wilkerson (Justin), Davey Murphy (Aliyah Beg), Adam Millay (Sieria Gonzales), Jessica Reid (Andrew) and Hannah Bilbro (Hunter Slinker); twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Gordon and Pat Tomes and Ruth and Ed Shiver.

Services are 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, at Crosspointe Baptist Church in Owensboro. Burial is in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at Crosspointe Baptist Church.
