BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Nicholas Ryan Blackford, 29, went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends. Nick was born in Evansville, Ind., on Dec. 14, 1987.
Nick favorite things were farming with his Papaw and working at Chandler Dragstrip. Nick had a passion for racing and automobiles, which eventually became his career after starting his photography company Realtime Images.
When he wasn’t looking through a camera lens, he loved spending quality time with his new wife, Dystany. Nick was an enthusiastic, kind soul, whose happiness effortlessly rubbed off on anyone who surrounded him.
Nick was a member of Centertown Tabernacle Church.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Louis Franz and Faye Bender, and paternal grandparents Garland and Margaret Blackford.
Survivors include his wife, Dystany Snodgrass Blackford; mother, Rita Staub (Steve); father, Tim Blackford; uncle, James Franz (Jackie), Shelia Crooks (Jeff); and cousins, Jimmy Franz (Stacy), Jenny Dotson (Ben).
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, March 27, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Marty Bowlds officiating. Burial will follow in Garrison Chapel Cemetery in Gentryville, Ind.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
