HARTFORD, Ky. — Betty Funk Flener, 82, of Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Signature Healthcare of Hartford. She was born on June 10, 1934, in Hartford, to the late Thomas Estil and Amy Lake Funk.
Ms. Flener was a graduate of Hartford High School, retired from a management position from Cowden Manufacturing, and she was of Baptist faith.
Betty loved her God and her family.
Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Funk, Andy Funk, McGlone Funk, Yewell Funk, Ellis Funk, and sister, Hester Buchanan.
Survivors include her sons, Mike (Cherita) Flener, of Owensboro, Ky., and Tom Flener, of Seattle, Wash. Ms. Flener was blessed with two grandchildren, Ian (Jessica) Flener, of Louisville, Ky., and Ashtin Flener, of Lexington, Ky.; sister-in-law, Helen Funk, of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 27, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home with Mr. Les Johnson and Rev. Greg Rose officiating. Burial will be in Clear Run Cemetery near Hartford. Friends may visit with the family of Betty Funk Flener from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday and after 9 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
